Wedding & Reception Decorative Accessories For Hire

The overall look and feel of your reception depends mostly on the decorations you choose. We have a range of centrepieces, candelabras, flower plinths, noticeboards, vases and other items you can use to deck out the room to suit your style, taste, theme and budget.

The main considerations for decorating the room, if your reception venue has limited choices, are linen (chair covers, tablecloths and fringing), centrepieces, cake stand, wishing well, gift table, flower stands and the seating chart. You might also like to drape the room with coloured cloth or feature fairy lights, or both. Perhaps you'd like a picture board - we can create a poster collage of favourite shots for your guests to "decorate" with their messages.

Your centrepieces need to be above or below eye level - your reception will have a much better atmosphere if your guests can see around the room and talk across the table. You should also consider where the speeches will be given - make sure everyone can see!

Centrepieces

Your guests will spend most of the evening looking at the centrepieces you choose, especially if you have round tables. It's worth spending some time thinking about what you want them to see. You can incorporate some interesting effects with floating candles, submerged flowers, helium balloons, photographs, or anything else that tickles your fancy.

One popular suggestion is a low floral arrangement around the base of a tall tealight candelabra. Our florists can incorporate the same flowers as used in the bridal party floristry so you have a consistent theme.

You might prefer a balloon arrangement if you're having a more casual setting, or bowls of floating candles, perhaps surrounded by a simple and elegant wreath. Table scatters of petals are popular and look divine. You could even use your bonbonniere as table decorations, with scattered confectionery.

Chair covers make a huge difference to the appearance of the reception room. Many venues overlook the appearance of their furniture, and the chairs make the room look like a cafeteria. We have chair covers in black, white and cream, and you can optionally add coloured sashes.
The appearance of the table is also influenced by the cutlery, glassware and china your venue offers - be sure to see these before you book. If you're displaying a menu, its appearance will also blend into the mix. Ask the venue if you can get us to print it, as printing is one of our specialties and they may not have the expertise or time to make it a priority.

Not all receptions will need a lot of dressing up. If the reception venue offers a superb view, keep your centrepieces simple but don't forget that as the light fades, the attention will be drawn back to the room, and you don't want it to appear too bare.

If your reception is more of a party than a dinner function, go for decorations that won't easily be knocked over or broken! You might consider balloons or flowers rather than candles to keep things simple and fun.

Consider hiring oversized pots filled with silk flowers. Silks always look great, they won't wilt and it's much more economical to hire than buy.

Place them on low columns to flank the entrance to the reception for an instant first impression boost. It also makes your entrance that much more remarkable!
One of the focal points of the room will be your wedding cake. You could have it simply on a platter but for something a bit more special, try one of our cake stands! The range is growing as we continue to add new ones, and if there's something in particular you'd like, let us know and we'll try to get it made for you. Decorate the table with some flowers or petal scatters to really dress it up.
